This movie will be shot in about 40-50 independent
vignettes that have one common theme: funniness. No vignette
will likely take more than a weekend to shoot so no individuals will be
tied up with the production for some interminable period of time.
We realize that everyone has other lives to live beside our movie.
That said, we also want to protect our interest in the
project by not having any one actor being in the entire film only to
decide to move to Barbados before we wrap the picture. Were you
going to be under a binding contract and we were paying you big,
Hollywood bucks, we could enforce all to participate 'til the end, but
this is not that kind of project. We do plan those more
contractual features for the near
future, however.
This movie will give budding talent a chance to showcase
their work in the various film festivals in which we plan to participate
and give them a finished movie that they can show to others empowered to
use their talents in the future.
There's an unwritten plus to all this. This will
likely be the most fun you'll ever have working on a production.
We always place high morale and fun-to-work at the forefront of our
productions. There will be others participating in this project
who can attest to how true that is from other productions we've worked
together on in the past. So prepare to bring your laughing shoes
to this one.
Should the movie make money, and, as anyone in this
business knows, anything can happen to a finished movie. A
noteworthy film may rot in the can while another can make millions on
the flimsiest of plots. Ask those guys who threw together The
Blair Witch Project. Point is, if this movie makes money all
attached to its production will share in that bounty.
Our movie will probably run in the 120-minute or less range and
will likely get a PG-13 or R rating by the Motion Picture
Association of America (MPAA). There will be adult language and
scenes. We're not doing a remake of The Wizard of Oz here.
It's going to speak to modern audiences, but we intend to err on the
side of good taste as much as we can without losing the sharpness and
believable reality of the humor involved.
Bottom line: We want dedicated people to work with us to
make the very best picture we can make. To that end, we extend our
invitation to audition to come on board.
