Bulletin Board

Many of you may know that we are finishing up our Baltimore Oriole documentary project The Forgotten Birds.  It is a large-scale work that spans fifty years in the life of baseball's International League.  It's scheduled to be completed this summer.  We'll then be free to work full-time on our Snappy Stories movie.  Please visit our documentary website at:  http://forgottenbirds.com
To those of you who have submitted your résumés, headshots and other personal information regarding your availability and desire to be part of our movie, we want to take a moment to thank you for your responses and earnest interest in our upcoming project.

We will likely be starting auditions and interviews on the following bases:

(a)  We will be contacting people for the individual vignettes that we feel would be appropriate for those actors' appearances, ages and availability.  Phone conversations have already been made to some of you, but don't be discouraged if we don't contact you until some weeks later into the project.  Some of you may not be called upon until mid-to-late summer.

(b)  Since we are doing this under the Screen Actors Guild Experimental Project Guidelines, we are naturally desirous of keeping our budget down to conform to the Guild's rules for this type of movie.  This doesn't mean that our movie couldn't be put into big time consideration at all, but it does mean that we must keep under a finite dollar amount to qualify for the Guild's definition of "Experimental" and be able to use SAG actors as well as non-union people.

That said, we will shoot certain scenes where we can best take advantage of usable venues.  If we need a courtroom, for instance, we may have to work around that location's availability and permission to use it.  We may be calling upon civil authorities to use vehicles, uniforms, equipment, etc. that may only be offered at limited times and dates.  All that means that we are going to have to work around, and with, these kind offerings and generosities.

Additionally, we may need trees to be in full-leaf for a particular shot so we have to wait until a bit later into the summer to get it.  We may need warm, sunny weather for a beach shot so we'll have to wait for warm, sunny weather.

That all boils down to taking advantage of what we need to work with when it's available.  And that may spread our project out over several weeks.  So please be patient if you don't hear from us right away.  We will get to you if and when we need you.  Hopefully, we will be able to use many of you.

Again, our deepest thanks for your submissions to us and for you patience as you wait to be contacted.
